I have the privilege of going into a juvy hall in Oakland and hang with 4-15 young men, 2-4 days every week and meditate . This is through the non profit Mind Body Awareness Project. So this blogs intention is to be A way the voices of the youth are heard and damn if i can share the inspiration and meaning they bring to my life I am honored.

“Can’t”

Can’t say I didn’t try cause I tried

Can’t say I didn’t die cause I died

Can’t say I didn’t lie cause I lied

No wonder there’s so much pain inside

Can’t say I got a date Cause I don’t

Can’t say I didn’t know cause I should have known

Now who will understand and who wont?

Can’t say I don’t notice when I see

Can’t lie to myself there’s only me

Can’t predict the future and now it will be

So I guess I’ll just stay until I leave

Can’t control the things out of reach

Can’t say that I don’t believe

Now all I know is all that I perceive

Can’t tell you everything cause I don’t know

Can’t make you move if you wont go

Can’t make you appear if you wont show

Can’t laugh at life it ain’t no joke
